Starhawk

Starhawk is an author, activist, Permaculture designer and teacher, and a prominent voice in modern earth-based spirituality and ecofeminism. She is the author or co-author of thirteen books, including The Spiral Dance: A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Great Goddess and the ecotopian novel The Fifth Sacred Thing, and its sequel City of Refuge.

 

Alfred Decker

me in france gardenAlfred Decker is an award-winning permaculture designer and one of Europe’s leading permaculture educators. Since his first PDC in 1998 in California, Alfred has been involved with social movements and projects throughout Europe and the Americas. He is the founder of the 12 Principles Permaculture Design consultancy, Permacultura Barcelona and the Forest Gardens project at Can Masdeu; is a co-founder of the Spanish Permaculture Academy (Academia de Permacultura Íbera); and was a member of the European Permaculture Teachers Partnership and the Permaculture Council of Europe.  Alfred holds a post graduate diploma in sustainable architecture and renewable energy (Centre for Alternative Technology).

 

Stephen Barstow

Stephen is originally from England and is a former marine scientist. He is the author of the book: Around The World In 80 Plants. He has a boutniful garden in Malvik near Trondheimsfjorden where he focuses on perennial vegetable cultivation. He has an office at Ringve Botanical Gardens, NTNU, in Trondheim and is also the head of Norwegian Seed Savers.

Karoline (biologist) and Tycho (plantsman) both hold permaculture diplomas and have established and run the demonstration site Permakulturhaven Myrrhis They live in Friland, an ecovillage on Djursland, in a self-built, off-grid strawbale house. Their homestead includes a forest garden, greenhouse, no-dig kitchen garden, roof garden, water systems, and integrated animals. This is registered as a LAND center. Karoline and Tycho have established one of Denmark’s first food forests in Denmark. They have published the book Permakulturhaven and have established one of the first food forests in Denmark. At the festival, they will be discussing no-dig gardening techniques and tips.

 

Ingelin Sevåg Vestly

Ingelin Sevåg Vestly

With a diverse background in eurythmics, teaching, homeopathy, herbal medicine, kinesiology, and beekeeping, Ingelin runs the School for Natural Beekeeping methods, BeeDynamic. She learned from Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, the man who put Environmental Medicine on the map, and who, through natural medicine, has given thousands of people around the world a new and cleaner life. She also spends her time working at Baldron, an association focused on the environment and research in order to inspire interaction between people and nature.

 

Andreas Jonsson

Andreas holds a Permaculture diploma and has applied his expertise as the principal at Holma Folk High School in Höör, located in southern Sweden. Holma Folk High School is the first Permaculture folk high school in the Nordic region and combines practice with theory. Andreas has also developed his skills in  Social Networking & Learning and Resilient Economics. He is a member of Sociocracy For All and works to share his knowledge and experience of both Sociocracy and Permaculture globally.

 

Helena von Bothner

Helena is a Permaculture diploma holder. In 1993, Helena and her husband bought a small farm at Sydkoster, which they have developed into a Permaculture farm called Kosters Trädgårder where they manage a restaurant and bakery and host courses, exhibitions, and garden walks.  If you visit their farm you can learn more about vegetable cultivation, animal husbandry and much more. Helena now focuses on hosting courses related to social Permaculture.

 

Cathrine Dolleris

Cathrine is a Permaculture diploma holder and trained diploma tutor. Her work is often interdisciplinary and she explores the intersections of humans, nature and the social. She has explored these intersections in Denmark, South Africa and Asia. She has been central to establishing LAND centers in Denmark and has established a LAND center and health resort at Orø in Sjælland. 

 

Frederica Miller and Julio Perez

Both Frederica and Julio are architects and hold diplomas in Permaculture. They have worked together at the Permaculture center, Sletta, and are active in Gaia Architekter .  Julio has as experience with clay building. Frederica has long interdisciplinary experience in the Permaculture scene. At the festival, she plans to guide people in their own project. She has edited “Levende hus” and “Ecovillages around the world”.

 

Devika Kjersti Fossen

She has been a bodyworker for over 30 years, using qigong, pilates, yoga, massage and movement practices as portals into Presence. She is passionate about sharing simple body awareness tools of self care and building sustainable relationships.

Katharine Burke

Katharine Burke photo

Katharine Burke is a PDC holder, teacher/teacher trainer, deep ecologist, and regenerative design practitioner. She practices Permaculture at her home in Skoppum and through her work at the Small Earth Institute with the aim to appreciate and promote deep ecology and social Permaculture initiatives. Currently, she is also involved in training in and practicing Cultural Emergence and the Work that Reconnects.

 

Randi Brodersen

Randi is a co-founder of BØL, a fermentation enthusiast, wild hereditary ancestor, city beekeeper, a yoga and meditation teacher and language researcher. BØL (Bergen Ecological Village, soon to be named Bruvik Ecological Village) is a voluntary organization that works to develop and build an organic village at Bruvik on Osterøy. with the promotion of ecology and Permaculture in a broad sense. BØL is run by a board and a project group owned by Randi, Kjetil, Brita and Kristian.

 

Ragnhild Gjems

Ragnhild GjemsRagnhild Gjems is a craftswoman, doll maker and masque. Gjems received her education from Oslo University College, the Theater Faculty of Prague, and Nordland Art and Film School. She has also studied handicraft techniques with woodworkers at Sätergläntan in Dalarne, Sweden.

 

 

 

David Måkestad

David is educated as a landscape gardener and studied at Hjeltnes Gartner school in Ulvik, Hardanger. He enjoys interdisciplinary work in construction and landscaping and has done so for over 10 years. He is passionate about individual creative solutions and is interested in sustainability and hard work.

 

Felipe Hoffman

Felipe HoffmanFelipe is an Environmental Engineer in Brazil with a masters in Sustainable Construction. He started in Permaculture in 2004, reaching some of the most important institutions in Brazil. In 2006, he had the pleasure of meeting the co-creator of Permaculture, David Holmgren, during an Advanced Permaculture Course in Brazil. Felipe is fully involved in working with nature, implementing ecological sanitation systems with local treatment and natural buildings for houses, hotels, schools and universities. Since 2008 he is has been holding workshops at his Permaculture Station Morada Ekoa, located in Imbituba SC, welcoming students and enthusiasts from all over the world, inspiring those who are willing to learn about sustainable projects, natural building, agroecological systems and the revitalization of environments. He has also hosted lectures on themes related to working with nature. Sharing his passion in Chile, Uruguay, New Zealand, South Africa, Hawaii and now the wonderful Norway.

Helene Bøhler


Helene Bøhler is an artist and has since 1998 enjoyed the deepening understanding and experiences that the path of Tai Chi has given her. She has been teaching Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Soul Moves and TMW since 2003, in Scotland, England and Norway, amongst others in the Norwegian Cancer Association. Her joy in facilitating is communicated with lightness and anchoring in many years experience.  

She has chaired the Norwegian Permaculture Association, been coordinator for the Nordic Permaculture Festival in Hurdal in 2013, and has initiated and is coordinating LAND in Norway. 

 

Hannah Apricot Eckberg

me at SB SolsticeHannah Apricot Eckberg discovered Permaculture over 20 years ago and has been inspired by it greatly ever since. As a main motivation for her environmental journalist career, she helped co-found the North American version of Permaculture magazine. She currently is co-founder and executive director of the Abundant Earth Foundation, which is working to support the permaculture movement through grassroots philanthropy. Besides supporting individuals, convergences and projects around the world, some of the initial projects of the foundation include a networking platform called Weaver and the Youth in Permaculture Prize. She is from California, but is a nomad who travels the world visiting Permaculture efforts.

Karoline (biolog) og Tycho (plantemann) er begge diplomholdere i permakultur og har utgitt boken Permakulturhaven og driver Permakulturhaven Myrrhis. De bor i økolandsbyen Friland på Djursland i et ”off-grid” halmhus med skoghage, planteskole, køkkenhage, flerårige spiselige planter og dyrehold. Dette er et LAND senter. Karoline og Tycho har etablert et av Danmarks første skoglandbruk.

Andreas Jonsson

Han er diplomholder i permakultur og rektor ved Holma folkehøyskole i Höör i Sør-Sverige. Dette er den første permakulturfolkehøyskolen i Norden og kombinerer praksis med teori.

Har arbeidet med eget sted i Skåne med: Självhushållning, Energi, Socialt Nätverk & Lärande och Resilient Ekonomi. Er også medlem av SociocrayForAll og arbeider derfor i gränslandet mellan sociokrati och permakultur globalt.

Helena von Bothner

Helena er diplomholder. I 1993 kjøpte Helena og hennes mann et småbruk på Syd-Koster som de har opparbeidet til permakultur kursgården Kosters Trädgårder  med grønnsaksdyrking, dyrehold og restaurant. Hun holder nå mange kurs innenfor tema sosial permakultur.

Cathrine Dolleris

Cathrine er diplomholder, geograf og har arbeidet tverrfaglig med menneske, natur og det sosiale i Danmark, Sør-Afrika og Asia. Hun har vært sentral til å få etablert Land-sentre i Danmark. Hun har opparbeidet et LAND-senter og kursted på Orø på Sjælland.

 Frederica Miller og Julio Peres

De er begge arkitekter og diplomholdere og har sammen opparbeidet kursgården Sletta og i aktive i Gaia arkitekter. Julio har som spesiale leire som byggemateriale. Frederica har lang tverrfaglig erfaring i permakulturmiljøet og hun vil på bl.a. på festivalen guide folk i deres eget prosjekt.. Hun ar har skrevet flere bøker: ”Levende hus” og ”Ecovillages around the world”

Devika Kjersti Fossen

Devika er kroppsterapeut og yogini, og bur i Hardanger. Ho har over 30 års faring i sitt arbeidsfelt og bruker qigong, pilates, yoga, massasje og bevegelse som portaler inn i Nærværet. Ho brenn for å dela enkle kroppsterapeutiske redskap som skaper kontakt med oss sjølve og ho er ei vevkjæring i bærekraftig nettverks bygging!

Katharine Burke

Katharine Burke er en PDC-holder, lærer / lærer trener, dyp økolog og regenerativ design utøver. Hun praktiserer permakultur på sitt hjem i Skoppum og på hennes arbeid gjennom The Small Earth Insitute. For tiden er hun også involvert i Cultural Emergence og The Work that Reconnects.

Randi Brodersen

Randi er medstifter af BØL, fermenteringsentusiast, vild urtesanker, by-birøgter og yoga- og meditationslærer og sprogforsker. BØL (Bergen Økologiske Landsby – snart: Bruvik Økologiske Landsby) er en frivillig organisation som arbejder med at udvikle og bygge en økologisk landsby ved Bruvik på Osterøy og med promovering af økologi og permakultur i bred forstand. BØL drives af et styre og en projektgruppe som besår af Randi, Kjetil, Brita og Kristian.

David Måkestad

Utdannet anleggsgartner ved Hjeltnes Gartner skule i Ulvik, Hardanger. Har arbeidet tverrfaglig innen bygg og anlegg i over 10 år. Tilhenger av individuelle kreative løsninger. Interessert i bærekraft og hardt arbeid.

Helene Bøhler

Helene Bøhler er kunstner, og har siden 1998 hatt stor glede av de innsikter og opplevelser som fordypningen i Tai Chi har gitt henne. Hun har undervist Tai Chi og Chi Kung, TMW og Soul Moves, med siden 2003, i Skottland, England og Norge, bl.a som ansatt i Kreftforeningen. Hennes glede ved å undervise formidles med letthet og forankring i mange års erfaring. 

Hun har vært leder for Norsk Permakulturforening, og koordinator for Nordisk Permakulturfestival i Hurdal 2013, i tillegg til å være initiativtager og koordinator for LAND i Norge.
